It didn't start with an app. It started with a truck.
Before WasteMatch was WasteMatch, it was one pickup, a borrowed trailer, and weekends spent hauling for neighbors - couch by couch, mulch run by mulch run. No office, no software, just a phone that wouldn't stop ringing and a growing list of people who needed stuff gone.
Doing the work ourselves taught us exactly what's broken. Junk removal, bulk trash pickup, and dumpster rentals in Atlanta have long been fragmented, slow, and unreliable - endless phone tag, vague pricing, no-shows, and week-long waits. So we built the thing we wished existed: instant, transparent pricing on the front end, and a vetted, on-demand network of local haulers on the back end.
Book in sixty seconds, know your price up front, and get it gone - often the same day. Same hustle as the early days, just with a lot more trucks.

What we haven't outgrown
The stuff that mattered when it was one truck still runs the whole network.
- Treat workers fairly
- Haulers see their payout before they accept a job and keep the freedom to decline. Clear expectations help local professionals decide which work fits their vehicle, crew, and schedule.
- Transparent pricing
- Customers see their price before booking. If a job needs a custom quote or an additional charge requires approval, that conversation happens before the charge, not as a surprise afterward.
- Reliable communication
- Customers can check their booking status and see their assigned pro after acceptance. Our dispatch team coordinates the match so customers and haulers know what happens next.
Our mission: make room, without the runaround
WasteMatch connects people who need space cleared with local professionals equipped to do the work. Our goal is to make arranging removal easier to understand: choose a service, describe the job, see the price, and know where your booking stands. For haulers, the same clarity means knowing the scope and payout before deciding whether to accept.
An apartment move-out, a renovation, and a property cleanup do not need the same solution. We offer junk removal when you need someone to load and haul items, dumpster and trailer rentals when you want to fill a container yourself, and point-to-point transport when items need to move to another address rather than be discarded.
How the WasteMatch matching process works
Start with your ZIP code and select the service that fits your project. The booking flow collects the details that matter, including items or container size, access conditions, and your preferred schedule. These details help our dispatch team find a suitable local hauler rather than send someone who is unprepared for the job.
An eligible pro receives the job offer and chooses whether to accept. If an offer is declined or expires, reassignment can move the request to another eligible pro. Once a pro accepts, customers can follow their booking and assigned pro through the tracking link. Availability still depends on the location, service, and requested time; a booking request is not a promise of immediate arrival.
Larger or unusual projects go through custom quote review. Describing the load, access, and timing gives the team a better starting point than a vague estimate and helps everyone agree on the scope before work begins.
From hauling to matching
- The first truck. Hands-on removal work for Atlanta neighbors revealed how much time customers spent chasing estimates and reliable help.
- The platform. Those lessons became a booking experience built around clear prices, job details, and offers to local haulers.
- The network today. WasteMatch brings junk removal, container rentals, and transport together for residents, property managers, and contractors across our Atlanta service area.

Atlanta, built by Atlanta
WasteMatch was founded in Atlanta and is built for Atlanta - from Midtown condos to Buckhead move-outs to Old Fourth Ward renovations. Every junk removal and dumpster job is handled by local haulers who know these neighborhoods, which means faster dispatch, fairer pay staying in the community, and service that actually shows up.
"On-demand waste removal isn't just a convenience - it's an environmental imperative. When removal is easy, diversion rates go up. We're still the neighbors with the truck. There are just more of us now."
WasteMatch Team
The problem, by the numbers
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports that Americans generated 292.4 million tons of municipal solid waste in 2018 — about 4.9 pounds per person every day — and roughly half of it still went to landfill. In Georgia, solid waste handling, landfill permitting, and recycling programs are regulated by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, and the U.S. Census Bureau puts Metro Atlanta at more than 6.3 million residents. That is the scale WasteMatch is built for: when responsible removal is fast, priced up front, and actually available, far more of what leaves a home gets donated or recycled instead of buried.

Questions about WasteMatch
- What does WasteMatch do?
- WasteMatch is an Atlanta-based marketplace connecting customers with local haulers for junk removal, dumpster and dump trailer rentals, and point-to-point transport. You can arrange removal for unwanted items, rent a container for a project, or book transport between two addresses. Each service has its own booking flow so the job details match the work requested.
- Where does WasteMatch offer service?
- Our Atlanta metro service area covers Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Cherokee, Henry, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, and Rockdale counties. Enter your ZIP code to check coverage before booking. Hauler availability and service options can vary by location and date, so being inside the service area does not guarantee a same-day appointment.
- Who handles my pickup or delivery?
- A local hauler handles the work, with WasteMatch coordinating the booking and dispatch. Matching considers the service requested and the job location, and the hauler must accept the offer. Once accepted, your tracking link shows the assigned pro and booking status. We do not ask customers to call through a list of haulers to arrange the match themselves.
- When is my card charged for an instant booking?
- Your card is authorized during checkout, which reserves the booking amount without capturing payment immediately. Payment is captured only after a pro accepts the job. Review the price breakdown before confirming, and use your order or tracking link to check the booking's status. Custom quotes follow a separate review process before you agree to the proposed work.
- Can usable items be donated instead of discarded?
- You can request donation pickup for suitable items during junk removal booking. Donation depends on the item's condition and the receiving organization's acceptance rules, so it is not guaranteed for every item. When a donation is completed and documented, the process includes an item photo and a donation receipt photo. Damaged or rejected items may need another disposal option.
- What if my project is too large or unusual for instant booking?
- Request a custom quote for projects that need a closer review, such as a larger cleanout or a complex commercial load. Include the types of items, approximate volume, access constraints, and preferred timing. This helps the team understand the job before proposing a price. A quote request is not a confirmed booking or an instruction to dispatch a hauler.
The WasteMatch Team — Atlanta haulers & dispatchers
WasteMatch was built by people who did the removals themselves — one pickup truck and a borrowed trailer, hauling junk for Atlanta neighbors on nights and weekends. We started the platform to fix what we kept running into: vague estimates, no-shows, and week-long waits. Our team runs dispatch and the hauler network, and sets the pricing and payout standards every job on WasteMatch follows.
