Atlanta Junk Removal Costs: 2026 Pricing Study
WasteMatch Team · August 29, 2026
Written and maintained by the WasteMatch Team — Atlanta metro haulers and dispatchers who handle disposal compliance every day. Last updated .
Most junk removal companies in Atlanta quote by "how much room it takes up in the truck" — a number only the person standing in your driveway can see. WasteMatch prices every item on a published rate card instead, so the figures below aren't estimates or industry averages. They are the exact prices we charge in metro Atlanta as of August 2026.
Methodology
Every price in this study comes from the live WasteMatch rate card that powers our own checkout — the same numbers a customer sees before they book. Prices are per item, on top of a flat $59 base service fee that covers dispatch, labor, hauling and disposal. No square-footage estimates, no volume guesswork, no post-service surprises.
What Atlanta junk removal actually costs, by item
Mattresses and box springs
Mattress disposal is the single most requested item in Atlanta, and the price scales cleanly with size.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Crib mattress | $21 |
| Twin mattress | $28 |
| Full mattress | $31 |
| Queen mattress | $33 |
| King / Cal King mattress | $40 |
| Twin box spring | $23 |
| Queen box spring | $29 |
| King / Cal King box spring | $34 |
A single queen mattress and box spring removed together comes to $121 all-in ($33 + $29 + the $59 base fee) — a useful benchmark, because the national "single item" junk removal range typically starts near $100 to $150 for exactly this job.
Furniture
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Chair | $23 |
| Nightstand | $21 |
| Table | $32 |
| Desk | $37 |
| Recliner | $45 |
| Couch / sofa | $48 |
| Vertical dresser | $40 |
| Horizontal dresser | $49 |
| Dresser with mirror | $60 |
| Loveseat | $80 |
Appliances and electronics
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| TV / electronics | $30 |
| Washer / dryer | $45 |
| Refrigerator | $75 |
Exercise and recreation equipment
The heaviest, most awkward items in any Atlanta home carry the widest spread of any category:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Exercise equipment (general) | $48 |
| Residential treadmill | $62 |
| Commercial treadmill | $104 |
| Shuffleboard table | $208 |
| Pool table | $261 |
| Hot tub | $346 |
Hot tubs are the outlier of residential junk removal — a $346 base price, plus $53 if the tub hasn't been drained and $80 for difficult access. A full-water hot tub in a fenced backyard can therefore run $538 including the base fee, which is why draining it yourself is the single highest-value hour of prep work in this entire study.
Construction and renovation debris
Contractor debris in Atlanta prices in two tiers — small loads and large loads — and the large tier averages 2.2x the small tier across all six material types:
| Material | Small load | Large load |
|---|---|---|
| Scrap wood / lumber | $91 | $208 |
| Drywall / sheetrock | $101 | $229 |
| Roofing debris / shingles | $112 | $250 |
| Mixed construction debris | $117 | $266 |
| Concrete / brick / masonry | $154 | $346 |
Concrete is the most expensive debris category in Atlanta at $154 to $346, because masonry weight — not volume — drives landfill tipping fees.
Dumpster rental costs in Atlanta
For projects that run longer than a single appointment, a rental is usually cheaper per cubic yard than itemized removal. All rentals run a 7 to 14 day period - the first 7 days are included - plus the same $59 base service fee:
| Dumpster size | Rental | All-in with base fee |
|---|---|---|
| 10 yard | $295 | $354 |
| 15 yard | $345 | $404 |
| 20 yard | $415 | $474 |
| 30 yard | $495 | $554 |
Extra days are $15/day for dumpsters. Dump trailers — a lower-clearance alternative for driveways that can't take a roll-off — run $395 (Small) to $595 (X-Large) with $20/day extra days.
The 10-yard dumpster works out to roughly $35 per cubic yard at the included 7-day rate, while the 30-yard drops to about $18 per cubic yard. The break-even is clear: the larger the project, the more the per-yard cost falls in your favor.
Point-to-point transport
Not every haul goes to a landfill. Moving a single item from point A to point B in metro Atlanta prices at a $45 base fee plus $2.50 per driving mile, with a load tier on top: $25 light, $55 medium, $95 heavy. A heavy 20-mile move is $190. Anything past 60 miles moves to a custom quote rather than instant booking.
The three findings that matter most
- Weight beats volume. Concrete at $346 and hot tubs at $346 cost more than a pool table because disposal is billed by the ton. Any Atlanta quote based purely on truck space is mispricing dense material.
- The large-load premium is consistent. Across every construction material, the large tier costs 2.2x the small tier — so splitting one large load into two small ones is almost always more expensive, never less.
- Prep work has a hard dollar value. Draining a hot tub saves $53. Keeping access clear avoids the $80 difficult-access surcharge. Stairs add $15 per flight. These are the only surcharges in the entire rate card, and all three are avoidable.
Why we publish this at all
Published pricing is the whole premise of WasteMatch. Every figure above is the number our own checkout charges — it's why we can authorize your card at booking and only capture it once a vetted local pro accepts the job. If a quote is going to change, you approve the new total by text before anyone touches your stuff.
